Amigurumi crochet doll CAL-crochet along-Part 3
And the final part is officially here. I feel excited to share the final part and see all of your creations. It was a pretty good experience for me and I hope you enjoyed this CAL. Scroll down to find the pattern for Part 3 and all the information you need to know before you start.
First, I would like to thank all of you who joined our CAL(crochet along). I hope to be able to share with you a few more crochet along during the year. It has been an amazing experience for me to be able to connect and crochet a particular project with all of you who participated.
Second, I hope those of you who were not familiar with amigurumi decided to join and give it a try. I kept all the beginners in mind and tried to create a simple but interesting pattern. With this pattern, I wanted to show you that there is nothing scary in crocheting a toy. I hope, I succeeded? Also, another one of my goals was to show you that if you use different colors and add or remove a few additions you can have totally different outcome.
I would like to share a secret with you! If you use worsted weight yarn and hook 4,5mm the hat size will fit a newborn baby! Isn’t that cool? While I was designing the dolls I figured out that the doll’s hat size isexactly the same as a newborn baby. So you can add this to your – to do or crochet list.
In this final part of the Amigurumi CAL, we will crochet the dresses and hats for our dolls. As I said above the pattern for the dress and hat itself is the same for all of the dolls. You just need to change colors and make a few additions for each animal outfit. I write the body for the hat and dress and then continued on the additions such as eyes, ears, etc for each hat/dress separately.

Crochet unicorn’s hat- joining all the pieces.
Take your ear parts – both white and pink ones
Put the small pink part over the white and sew it onto the white part.
Repeat for both ears.
Place your hat to a flat surface. Attach unicorn ears right on the
outline of the hat onto 3rd and 4th rnds. Sew them. Take the horn,
fill it with a small amount of poly fiberfill and sew it right on top of
1
st
round. Then take the mane, we have 5 short curls and 2 long
curls.
The 5 short curls will be placed in a straight line right below the
horn and the 2 long curls will be placed around the horn making
them to fall in front of the hat.
How to join all of the doll’s parts: hands, legs, body, and head.
We start sewing head to the body. Take your head and body. We left longer tail for sewing on the head. Take your tapestry needle and put the yarn through your needle. Align head to the body. For sewing both pieces, we will use an amigurumi technique which is like invisible sewing.
Insert your needle around the post of your sc st of body’s last rnd and pull it through. Then go to the corresponding st of the head’s last round and again insert your needle around the post of the sc st. Then go back to the next st of the body and repeat the same. Now go to the next st of head’s last round. Continue till you sew the head to the body. When you reach the last 5-6 stitches left for sewing start filling the
head and body again to prevent leaving a spot that is not stuffed well. (See pictures below)
Now take one of the hands and place it on one of the sides, 2 rnds below the head. Use safety pins to secure it and do the same for
the other one. Make sure that they are aligned. And when you are satisfied with their place sew them to the body.
Take both legs and again secure them using safety pins. Put them in 6th rnd of the body and align them with the hands-on both sides.
Then check them again before sewing. When you are satisfied with their place sew them to the body.
