Darth Vader ( Marvel ) – Star Wars

Darth Vader ( Marvel ) – Star Wars

Happy 2018 year.

This is our first post and I hope that we will have more and more than 2017 to share with you.I couldn’t find time to watch new Star Wars movie but I really like this little man- Darth Vader ( Marvel ). As an offspring of the technological  era, most of the kids know him and love to watch movies, cartoons or play games of the franchise.             When I heard that the new Star Wars movie is live just decide to crochet one of the main characters so Darth Vader( Marvel ) you can use it as a key chain for the kids or as an accessory for their bags. Of course as I told you before these days I am a bit obsessed with rag doll patterns which are super easy and fun to make. So let’s start.

Materials needed :

  1. Dk weight yarn –
  2. I used  Stylecraft Special DK or :
  3. Paintbox Simply DK ( 101 )- Pure Black – main body, hands
  4. Paintbox Simply DK yarns ( 105)- Slate Grey
  5. Crochet hook size – 3,5mm – US crochet hook size – E
  6. Poly fiber fill for stuffing
  7. Tapestry needle
  8. Scissors

Darth Vader  ragdoll is made using single crochet stitch. When we incorporate different colors the stitches will be indicated with the letter of the color from the color legend bellow:

Color Legend :

G – grey ( Slate Grey )          BL- black color ( Pure Black )

The doll is made of 8 parts that we will join later with single crochet stitch as our other ragdolls .

Darth Vader doll front body panels .

The doll is made of flat pieces that we will join with single crochet stitch later. The Santa Claus doll is made of 6 panels – 2 for body and 4 for hands.

Tips and tricks of the patterns :

  1. Color changing – When you switch colors do it always before you finish your last st of the previous color yarn, Just change color before your last YO of previous st and YO with new color then pull through the hook with the new yarn . Here is example with colors – insert your hook into the last stitch of Color A. Pull up a loop in Color A. Then yarn over in Color B to complete the stitch. Continue with Color B until you need to switch again. When you change color make sure that you are dropping the yarn in the back of your panel if you wish you can put a stitch marker of the Right side of the panel or piece of string so you will never wonder which one is the correct side.
    1. Incorporating different colors – You can use fair isle crochet technique when changing colors or you can just pull them from back without cutting yarn. Just be sure that you keep the yarn at the backside of panel. In the pattern when we make the head we will need to work different color stitches of some rows. The whole pattern is made using single crochet stitch so when we incorporate different colors the stitches will be indicated with the letter of the color . For example – “ 6W, 12CR , 6W ” – so it means that you should make first 6 stitches with White color, the next 12 with Cream , and last 6 with White color. When it says “ decW” – it means you should decrease with white color yarn .
    2. Do not forget – Make ch 1 and  turn at the end of each row.
  2. Let”s get starting :

    Front body panel :

Body and head panel . Front panel is worked from row 1 til row 63.

Start with black color yarn .

    Rd 1: Ch 5, sc 4 ( 4 sts )

    Rd 2: inc, sc 2, inc ( 6 sts )

    Rd 3-4: sc across ( 6 sts )

    Rd 5: inc, sc 4, inc ( 8 sts )

    Rd 6-16: sc across ( 8 sts )

Tie off. Repeat the rows 1-16 but do not tie off. Now you will have two pieces that we will join together in next row as in the picture bellow:

Rd 17: inc in 1st st of 1st leg, sc 7 across then continue on the 2nd leg piece, sc 7, inc in last st of 2nd leg piece ( 18 sts )

Rd 18: sc across ( 18 sts )

Rd 19: inc, sc 16, inc ( 20 sts )

Rd 20- 23: sc across ( 20 sts )

Switch to grey color. Rows 24-26 are worked in grey.

Rd 24-26:  sc across ( 20 sts )

Switch to black color yarn. Rows 27-63 are worked in black.

Rd 27: sc across ( 20 sts )

Rd 28: dec, sc 16, dec ( 18 sts )

Rd 29-30: sc across ( 18 sts )

Now we will start incorporating grey color and black. Stitches will be indicated with the letter of the color from the color legend.

Rd 31: decBL, 2BL, 10G, 2BL, decBL ( 16 sts )

Rd 32-34: 3BL, 10G, 3BL ( 16 sts )

Rd 35: decBL, 1BL, 10G, 1BL, decBL ( 14 sts )

Tie off the grey yarn and continue with black yarn color. Rows 36-41 are worked in black color yarn. Stitches will be indicated with sc st.

Rd 36: sc across ( 14 sts )

Rd 37: dec, sc 10, dec ( 12 sts )

Rd 38-39: sc across ( 12 sts )

Now we will start the head.

Rd 40: Ch 4, sc 3 along chs , sc 12 along prev row ( 15 sts )

Rd 41: Ch 4, inc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in rem 2 chs, switch to grey color, sc 12 along prev row, switch back to black color, sc 2, inc in last st ( 20 sts )

Now we will incorporate grey and black stitches to form the mask of Darth Vader . Now instead of the sc- there will be the letter of the color that you should use. You can find the corresponding letter and color in the Color legend.

Rd 42: incBL, 2BL, ( 2G, 1BL ) rep 5 times, 1BL, incBL ( 22 sts )

Rd 43: incBL, ( 2BL, 2G )rep 2 times, ( 1BL, 2G ) rep 2 times, 2BL, 2G, 2BL,  incBL ( 24 sts )

Rd 44: ( 3BL, 2G ) rep 2 times, ( 1BL, 2G )rep 2 times, 3BL, 2G, 3BL  ( 24 sts )

Rd 45: 2BL, 2G, 4BL, 8G, 4BL, 2G, 2BL  ( 24 sts )

Rd 46: 2BL, 2G, 5BL, 6G, 5BL, 2G, 2BL  ( 24 sts )

Rd 47: 1BL, 2G, 6BL, 4G, 6BL, 2G, 1BL ( 24 sts )

Rd 48-50: 2G, 8BL, 4G, 8BL, 2G  ( 24 sts )

Rd 51: 3G, 6BL, 6G, 6BL, 3G ( 24 sts )

Rd 54: 2BL, 2G, 5BL, 4G, 5BL, 2G, 2BL ( 22 sts )

Make the finishing touches before you join together front and back panels.

  2. Make the buttons on the grey body rectangle with yellow, red and green yarn.

3. Sew the black line of the helmet just above the eyes as in the picture bellow.

Back panel of helmet . Before you sew it on head fold both side. Fold the right side from right to left and the left side from left to right. Sew them.

Sew back of helmet to the 51st row .

Assembling pieces together. It doesn’t matter where you will start assembling  .

When you join two body panels make sure that the right side of front panel is facing you while you are crocheting with single crochet stitch around .

As you crochet along the outside, you will need to switch colours where appropriate. When switching colours, insert your hook into the last stitch of Colour A. Pull up a loop in Colour A. Then yarn over in Colour B to complete the stitch. Continue with Colour B until you need to switch again.

Stuffing – Stuf the toy when you crochet along . When you go around the leg with sc fill it.

Pinkle the Ballerina girl

Pinkle the Ballerina girl

Pinkle the Ballerina girl – childhood dreams come true

Deep inside every child have always dreamed to become a famous ballerina when it grows up. I also had such a dream far into the past thats why I decided the continuation of my of rag doll patterns collection to be Pinkle the ballerina girl. I think that it is a unique and unusual gift which will make your little princess feel the spirit of Pinkle within her. The fact that I love making gifts which can not be found in every store, make me believe that this doll would bring happiness to all little princess on this world.

     Materials needed :

  1. Dk weight yarn –
  2. I used Stylecraft Special DK and :
  3. Paintbox Simply DK yarns ( 116 )- Melon Sorbet- main body, hands
  4. Paintbox Simply DK yarns ( 153 )- Blush Pink – dress, boots, bow
  5. Paintbox Simply DK yarns ( 111 ) Bright Peach – skirt
  6. Paintbox Simply DK yarns ( 121 )- Daffodil yellow – hear
  7. Crochet hook size – 3,5mm – US crochet hook size – E
  8. Poly fiber fill for stuffing
  9. Tapestry needle
  10. Scissors

Ballerina ragdoll is made using single crochet stitch. When we incorporate different colors the stitches will be indicated with the letter of the color from the color legend bellow:

Color Legend :

P – pink ( blush pink )          SK- skin color ( melon sorbet )

The doll is made of 6 parts that we will join later with single crochet stitch as our other ragdolls .

Tips and tricks of the patterns :

  1. Color changing – When you switch colors do it always before you finish your last st of the prev color yarn, Just change color before your last YO of prev st and YO with new color then pull through the hook with the new yarn . Here is example with colors – insert your hook into the last stitch of Colour A. Pull up a loop in Colour A. Then yarn over in Colour B to complete the stitch. Continue with Colour B until you need to switch again.

Ballerina doll front and back body panels – two parts are worked the same  .

Start with bright pink color yarn

Row 1 : ch 4, sc 3 ( 3 sts )

Row 2 : inc, sc 1, inc ( 5sts )

Row 3-5 : sc across ( 5 sts )

In next 2 rows we will incorporate pink and skin color yarn so the stitches will be indicated with letters indicating the color

Row 6 : 1P, 3SK- work this 3 stitches in back loop only for left leg, 1P ( 5 sts )

Row 7: 1P, 3SK, 1P ( 5 sts )

Switch to skin color yarn. Rows 8-24 are worked in skin color yarn. Stitches will be indicated with sc .

Row 8-16 : sc across ( 5 sts )

Row 17 : inc, sc 4 ( 6 sts )

Row 18-20 : sc across ( 6 sts )

Row 21 : inc, sc 5 ( 7 sts )

Row 22-24 : sc across ( 7 sts )

Tie off. Repeat the rows 1-24 but do not tie off.

Row 6 of right leg : 1P, 3SK- work this stitches in front loops only for right leg, 1P ( 5 sts )

Now you will have two pieces that we will join together in next row as in the picture bellow

Be careful when you join both legs – they must be right side facing you- We increase the legs by 1 side that side should be in your outline.

Switch to light pink color yarn. Rows 25-44 are worked in light pink color :

Row 25 : sc across 1 st leg, ch 2, sc continue on 2nd leg sc across second leg ( 16 sts )

Row 26 : sc 7 , sc 2 along chs, sc 7 ( 16 sts )

Row 27-33 : sc across ( 16 sts )

Row 34 : dec, sc 12, dec ( 14 sts )

Row 35 : sc across ( 14 sts )

Row 36 : dec, sc 10, dec ( 12 sts )

Row 37 : dec, sc 8 , dec ( 10 sts )

Row 38-44 : sc across ( 10 sts )

Switch to skin color yarn. Rows 45-60 are worked in skin color yarn.

Row 45-46 : sc across ( 10 sts )

Row 47 : dec, sc 6, dec ( 8 sts )

Row 48 : sc across ( 8 sts )

Row 49 : ch 3, sc 2 along chs, sc 8 along prev row ( 10 sts )

Row 50 : ch 3, inc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 1 in rem chs, sc 9 along prev row, inc in last st (14 sts )

Row 51 : inc, sc 12, inc ( 16 sts )

Row 52 : inc, sc 14, inc ( 18 sts )

Row 53-60 : sc across ( 18 sts )

Switch to yellow color yarn . Rows 61-68 are worked in yellow color yarn.

Row 61 : sc across – work in front loops only ( 18 sts )

Row 62 : dec, sc 14, dec ( 16 sts )

Row 63 : sc across ( 16 sts )

Row 64 : dec, sc 12, dec ( 14 sts )

Row 65 : sc across ( 14 sts )

Row 66 : dec, sc 10, dec ( 12 sts )

Row 67 : sc across ( 12 sts )

Row 68 : 2 dec, sc 4, 2 dec ( 8 sts )

Skirt : Make it with darker pink .

Row 1 : ch 11 , sc 10 ( 10 sts )

Row 2 : sc across ( 10 sts )

Row 3 : ch 3, dc in same st, ( 2 dc in next st , 3 dc in next st ) rep 4 times, 2 dc in turning ch ( 24 sts )

Row 4-7 : ch 3, dc in each st across, 1 dc in turning ch ( 24 sts ).End .

Hands – make 4 with skin color yarn

Row 1: ch 4, sc 3 ( 3 sts )

Row 2-15 : sc across ( 3 sts )

Bow : Make it with light pink

Row 1: Ch 11, sc 10 ( 10 sts )

Row 2-5 : cs across – work in back loop only ( 10 sts )

Assembling pieces together. It doesn’t matter where you will start assembling  .

It will be easier if you attach the small parts on the body and face first then join the 2 body panel together.

  1. First assembly hand pieces together 2 by 2. 2 pieces for each hand. Join hands with sc st.
  2. Make the eyebrows with white yarn using basic tapestry chain stitch to give the doll sleepy expression on face. You can use safety eyes as well if you wish.
  3. Sew the hands to the back panel.
  4. Make the nose using skin color yarn – just make small straight line .
  5. Make the ties of the shoes using the tapestry needle and pink color yarn .
  6. Sew bow on the yellow hair part.

We will not join the hand pieces with single crochet stitch as we usual do in other rag dolls. We will join them 2 by 2 with tapestry needle by sewing the to each other as in the picture bellow:

Assembling pieces together. It doesn’t matter where you will start assembling for .

It will be easier if you attach the small parts on the body and face first then join the 2 body panel together.

  1. Insert the eyes in the 37th row leave 3 or 4 sts space between eyes.
  2. Sew the nose in the middle between eyes but 2-3 rows bellow.
  3. Make mouth using black string and tapestry needle.
  4. Sew buttons onto the body – I used 3 small buttons.
  5. Assemble two body panels.
  6. Stuff doll as you join along.

We will join the 2 body panels with single crochet. Do not sew the hands on the back panel we will join them as we crochet along with single stitch. You can start wherever you wish . When you get to the hand , insert the hand piece between the two body panels and make sl.st instead of single crochet. Join all the 3 pieces together.

Only 10 days left and it is time to prepare some gingerbread and milk to show Santa that we are all expecting him.

Gingerbread man cookies pattern

Materials needed :

  1. Paintbox Simply DK – vanilla cream ( 107 )- main body and hands
  2. Paintbox Simply DK– white – frosting on head
  3. Paintbox Simply DK– red – rose red (113)- cherry on top
  4. Paintbox Simply DK– light brown/brown – cherry handle
  5. Crochet hook size – 3,5mm – US crochet hook size – E
  6. Safety eyes – 12mm – black or you can use different color depends on you
  7. Poly fiber fill for stuffing
  8. Tapestry needle
  9. Scissors
  10. Buttons for decoration- I used 2 buttons.

The doll is made of flat pieces that we will join with single crochet stitch later. Jingle the elf  is made of 6 pieces.

Tips and tricks of the pattern:

  1. Color changing – When you switch colors do it always before you finish your last st of the prev color yarn. Just change color before your last YO of prev st and YO with new color then pull through the hook with the new yarn . Here is example with colors – insert your hook into the last stitch of Colour A. Pull up a loop in Colour A. Then yarn over in Colour B to complete the stitch. Continue with Colour B until you need to switch again.

Let”s get starting :

Front and back body panel of the Ginger man cookie with bow :

Start with vanilla cream color yarn .

Row 1:  ch 6, sc 5  ( 5 sts )

Row 2: inc, sc3, inc  ( 7 sts )

Row 3-9: sc across ( 7 sts )

Row 10: inc, sc 5, inc ( 9 sts )

Row 11: sc across ( 9 sts )

Tie off.

Repeat the rows 1-11 but do not tie off. Now you will have two pieces that we will join together in next row as in the picture bellow:

In the next row we will join 2 legs of the front body panel .

Row 12: inc, sc 8 across of 1st leg,  now continue on the 2nd leg and make sc 8 , inc in last st ( 20 sts )

Row 13-22: sc across ( 20 sts  )

Row 23: dec, sc 16, dec ( 18 sts )

Row 24-25: sc across ( 18 sts )

Row 26: dec, sc 14, dec ( 16 sts )

Row 27: sc across ( 16 sts )

Row 28: dec, sc 12, dec ( 14 sts )

Row 29: dec, sc 10, dec ( 12 sts )

Row 34: inc, sc 16 , inc ( 20 sts )

Row 35: inc, sc 18, inc ( 22 sts )

Row 36-46: sc across ( 22 sts )

Row 47: dec, sc 18, dec ( 20 sts )

Row 48: sc across ( 20 sts )

Switch to white color yarn. Next 2 rows are worked in white.

Row 49: sc across ( 20 sts )

Row 50: dec, sc 16, dec ( 18 sts )

Switch to vanilla cream color yarn. Rows 51-54 are worked in vanilla cream color.

Row 51: sc across ( 18 sts )

Row 52:  dec, sc 14,  dec ( 16 sts )

Row 53:  dec, sc 12,  dec ( 14 sts )

Row 54: dec, sc 10, dec ( 12 sts )

Front and back body panel of the cookie with frosting and cherry on top:

Rows 1-41 are worked the same.

Now we will start incorporating different colors to make the frosting on the head. Stitches  will be indicated with letters instead of sc. Find the letter-color in color  legend section.

Row 42: 6VC, 2W, 14VC  ( 22 sts )

Row 43: 7VC, 1W, 4VC, 4W, 6VC ( 22 sts )

Row 44: 5VC, 4W, 4VC, 3W, 6VC ( 22 sts )

Row 45: 5CV, 5W, 3CV, 4W, 5CV ( 22 sts )

Row 46: 5VC, 4W, 3VC, 5W, 5VC ( 22 sts )

Switch to white color yarn . Rows 47-54 are worked in white.

Row 47: dec, sc 18, dec ( 20 sts )

Row 48: sc across ( 20 sts )

Row 49: sc across ( 20 sts )

Row 50: dec, sc 16, dec ( 18 sts )

Row 51: sc across ( 18 sts )

Row 52:  dec, sc 14,  dec ( 16 sts )

Row 53:  dec, sc 12,  dec ( 14 sts )

Row 54: dec, sc 10, dec ( 12 sts )

Cherry on top :

Row 1: Insert the hook in any stitch of row 54 that you wish your cherry to start from, pull a loop and ch1,make sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts. ( 3 sts )

Row 2: inc, sc 1, inc ( 5 sts )

Row 3-5: sc across ( 5 sts )

Row 6: dec, sc1, dec ( 3 sts ). Tie off.

Take light brown/brown yarn and insert the hook in the 2nd st of last row and pull a loop make ch 6, sl.st along chs.

Hands : ( make 4 pieces )

Start with vanilla cream/skin color yarn.

Row 1: Ch 3, sc 2 ( 2 sts )

Row 2: inc 2 ( 4 sts )

Row 3-14: sc across ( 4 sts )

Tie off.

Blush on the chicks: ( 2 pieces )- make with pink color yarn.

Rd 1: Start with magic ring and make 6 sc into it.

Rd 2: inc in each st around ( 12 sts )

Rd 3: sc across  ( 12 sts )

Bow : ( red color yarn )

Row 1: Ch 25 , join with sl.st in 1st ch to form a circle, sc in each ch across ( 25 sts )

Row 2-3:ch1, sc in same st,  sc in next 24 sts  ( 25 sts )

Take a long piece of string and tie the bow in the middle . Use the same string to sew the bow on head of cookie.

Use white color yarn and tapestry needle to make the decorations of the cookie with the bow. Make curly line on the bottom of belly, hands and feet.

Assembling pieces together. It doesn’t matter where you will start assembling.

It will be easier if you attach the small parts on the body and face first then join the 2 body panel together.

  1. First assembly hand pieces together 2 by 2. 2 pieces for each hand. Join the with sc st. Assemble ears.
  2. Insert the eyes in the 39th row leave 3 or 4 sts space between eyes.
  3. Sew pink blush circles jus bellow the eyes – a little bit aside .
  4. Make mouth using black string and tapestry needle.
  5. Sew hands to the back panel.
  6. Assemble two body panels.
  7. Stuff doll as you join along.

There are two different methods of joining that I used- I used the ordinary single crochet stitch joining in 1 of the gingerbread man ( this with the bow ) and joining with slip stitch ( gingerbread man with cherry on top )

When you join two body panels make sure that the right side of front panel is facing you while you are crocheting with single crochet stitch around.

In the picture bellow you can see the difference between two gingerman cookies .

Switch to evergreen color yarn.

Row 6-17: sc across ( 4 sts )

Tie off.

White piece around eyes :

Start with magic ring and make 12 dc into it . do not pull the ring . First insert the safety eye and then pull to tied it around th eye and then join with sl.st in 1st st. I suggest you to use thicker yarn like sport weight or fingering for that piece so when you put the safety eye you will be sure that it won’t come out.

You can use white felt circle instead of crochet one.

Crochet white circle:

Rd 1: Start with magic ring and make 12 dc into the ring , join with sl.st in 1st st but before closing the magic ring insert the safety eye and close the ring around eye. Then insert it in the front panel. Insert the eyes in the 48th row leave 6sts space between eyes.

Row 8: sc across ( 4 sts )

Row 9:  2 dec ( 2 sts )

Row 10: sc across ( 2 sts )

Row 11: dec ( 1 sts )

Row 12: sc 1 ( 1 sts )

Belt : make with light brown ( Soft Fudge ) color yarn .

Ch 22, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 18 sts . End.

Belt clips – make 1 piece with yellow color yarn .

Ch 20, join with sl.st in 1st ch to form a circle.

Row 1: ch1, sc in same ch, sc in next 2 sts, inc, sc in next 5 sts, inc, sc in next 3 sts, inc, sc in next 5 sts, inc, join with sl.st in 1st st. End . Leave a long tale for sewing.

Vest : Make with red color yarn.

Row 3:  * ch 7, work along chs and make- sc 2, hdc 2, dc 2, skip 2 sts of prev row, sl.st in next st, * rep the sequence around the row . You should have 5 small triangle .

Assembling pieces together. It doesn’t matter where you will start assembling for .

It will be easier if you attach the small parts on the body and face first then join the 2 body panel together.

  1. First assembly hand pieces together 2 by 2. 2 pieces for each hand. Join the with sc st. Assemble ears.
  2. Insert the eyes in the 53rd row leave 6sts space between eyes.
  3. Sew the nose in the middle between eyes but 1 row bellow.
  4. Make eyebrows and mouth using black string and tapestry needle.
  5. Sew hands and ears to the back panel.
  6. Sew belt and belt clip on the front panel. Sew belt on row 26
  7. Sew vest onto row 42. If you wish you can sew the edge of the mini triangles pointing downwards. I left my as 3D without sewing.
  8. Assemble two body panels.
  9. Stuff doll as you join along.

When you join two body panels make sure that the right side of front panel is facing you while you are crocheting with single crochet stitch around .

As you crochet along the outside, you will need to switch colors where appropriate. When switching colors, insert your hook into the last stitch of Color A. Pull up a loop in Color A. Then yarn over in Color B to complete the stitch. Continue with Color B until you need to switch again.

We have 2 different length panels as we said we need the front panel to have slouchy hat of Santa Claus so we will start joining from the left side of our Santa Claus and continue downwards till the other side of the head .

The up part will be sewn later as we can’t join both parts with sc st .

Christmas rush- Ruby the reindeer join Santa to help- free crochet pattern

Christmas rush- Ruby the reindeer join Santa to help- free crochet pattern

RUBY the reindeer ragdoll pattern

And of course in Christmas there must be more helpers to Santa Claus to carry the gifts. I thought it will be very difficult for Santa and Rudolph to get all the work done so here is another little helper of Santa Claus- Ruby. Not only here Christmas rush started but in North Pole as well. Ruby the reindeer is so enthusiastic, curious and full of energy that everything she seems to do goes a little crazy. For me after Rudolph maybe she is the cutest one, so I decide to make one more helper for us. She is a bit different from Rudolph as you can see on the picture and more festive. As Mr. Santa and Mrs. Santa Claus for me Rudolph without Ruby will not give me the full spirit of Christmas. So let’s start crocheting our cute little helper:

If you haven’t seen my Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus with their helper Rudolph the reindeer. Just click on the picture below:

Materials needed:

  1. Paintbox Simply DK – brown – Coffee Bean (110)- feet
  2. Paintbox Simply DK – light caramel (108)- antlers, muzzle
  3. Paintbox Simply DK– light brown– Soft Fudge (109) – main body, head
  4. Paintbox Simply DK– green – grass green(129)- dress
  5. Stylecraft Special DK– light green- grass green (1821) Christmas tree
  6. Stylecraft Special DK– red – lipstick (1246)- decoration of dress

  8. Safety eyes – 12mm – black or you can use different color depends on you
  9. Poly fiber fill for stuffing
  10. Tapestry needle
  11. Scissors

The doll is made of flat pieces that we will join with single crochet stitch later. Ruby is made of 15 flat pieces.

  2. When you change color make sure that you are dropping the yarn in the back of your panel if you wish you can put a stitch marker of the Right side of the panel or piece of string so you will never wonder which one is the correct side.
  3. Do not forget – Make ch 1 and  turn at the end of each row.

I used 2 differnet brands green yarn but they have the same name in the brands color  chart  so dark green in indicated with GR  and light green is indicated with GG

Row 12-14: sc across ( 3 sts )

When you join antlers be sure that you are joining the right side facing you. The antlers must be pointing different side . One must point right and one left side. It means you should turn the pieces when you join them.

White piece around eyes :

I used felt piece – just take a medium size ring or coin and make a circle onto white felt piece. Cut it make a little hole in the felt circle where you will put the eyes.

You can make crochet version too :

Start with magic ring and make 12 dc into it . do not pull the ring . First insert the safety eye and then pull to tied it around th eye and then join with sl.st in 1st st. I suggest you to use thicker yarn like sport weight or fingering for that piece so when you put the safety eye you will be sure that it won’t come out.

Insert the eyes in the 52nd  row leave 6sts space between eyes.

Final touches – Decorating Ruby’s dress.

Using tapestry needle and small amount of different color yarns make the cable of the Christmas light with black string. Then make vertical small lines in different color for the bulb of lights. I made mine with 3 vertical lines. Using yellow string make the star at the top of Christmas tree.

Assembling pieces together. It doesn’t matter where you will start assembling for .

It will be easier if you attach the small parts on the body and face first then join the 2 body panel together.

  1. First assembly hand pieces together 2 by 2. 2 pieces for each hand. Join the with sc st.
  2. Insert the eyes in the 52nd row leave 6sts space between eyes.
  3. Sew the muzzle in the middle bellow eyes.
  4. Using tapestry needle make the white lines that separates the coat from bottom. Use the basic tapestry chain stitch.
  5. Sew the hands to the back panel.
  6. Sew the ears and antlers to head of back body panel .

Joining all the pieces :

When you join two body panels make sure that the right side of front panel is facing you while you are crocheting with single crochet stitch around .

As you crochet along the outside, you will need to switch colours where appropriate. When switching colours, insert your hook into the last stitch of Colour A. Pull up a loop in Colour A. Then yarn over in Colour B to complete the stitch. Continue with Colour B until you need to switch again.

Stuff  doll as you crochet join along.

Christmas is always special for children and for adults as well. Just 13 days left and if you are a last minute person like us and searching for unique gift for your friends, family or someone you love and want to make them happy this can be the best gift for them. It is not big, but the biggest happiness is in the small things right? The main character for all of us is Santa, and as I said Christmas without a Santa won’t have the real spirit of Christmas but if there is Mr. Santa there must definitely be Mrs. Santa as well. As my Mrs. Santa is preparing delicious cookies for Santa Claus you would like to make your own Granny Santa and here is the pattern. Enjoy and if you haven’t seen my Mr. an Mrs. Santa Claus pattern you can find them below.
