Can a beginner crochet the Bumble bee gnome?
Yes, even if you are a beginner you can still crochet yourself an adorable bumble bee gnome. When we design our crochet patterns we always keep in mind all the people that just started enjoying crochet toys.
Although all the gnome patterns are easy to make we suggest you if this will be your first toy ever try the January snowflake gnome first. It is worked separately which means we crochet the body and then crochet the hat.
Also, in our Facebook crochet group, we have plenty of fellow crocheters who used the January Snowflake gnome pattern and turned it into a Bumble bee gnome. All you need to do is to change your colors.
Tips for beginners
A few tips on how to turn your Bumble Bee gnome pattern extra beginner-friendly!
– Use worsted weight yarn– preferably acrylic. If you just have started with crochet amigurumi it will be better for you to use thicker yarn and a suitable hook for it.
– Use stitch markers– Most of the crochet amigurumi are crocheted in continuous rounds. This means we will not be joining the rounds and continue working over the first stitch. For a beginner, it will be easy to miss a stitch and to make a mistake.
–Read the instruction carefully– When you are starting your Bumble bee gnome read the pattern well and make sure that you understand the instructions.
– Use safety pins– After we have completed crocheting all the parts we will use safety pins to secure the hands, nose, and other add-ons.

How to crochet a Bumble bee gnome step by step

Bumble bee gnome pattern overview
The bumble bee gnome is crocheted in one piece which means we will start from the base and crochet to the top.
The pattern is worked in continuous rounds therefore we will not join the rounds. Use stitch markers to indicate your first stitch.
In some of our previous gnome patterns, we used cardboard for the base. It is optional. For this pattern, we didn’t use any.
The written instructions are for the striped bumble bee with a flower on top of the hat. In the pattern, we included a table with the rounds and colors for the second gnome as well.
How to customize your Bumble bee gnome?
The possibilities are endless. Create your unique crochet gnome by changing the colors. For example, make the body black and the hat striped.
Use more flowers or add more bees to the hat. Why not turn your bumble bee gnome into she gnome by adding braids or curls? Check out the Butterfly gnome for the curly hair or the Valentine’s day gnome for the braids.

- Place the hands on either side. Leave 3-4 stitches between the beard and the hands.
- Sew the mini flower appliques onto the hat and or onto the end of your gnome’s hat. You can also not use any flowers.
- Place a mini bumble bee hanging from the hat’s top or sew the mini bumble bee applique onto your Daisy applique and attach the daisy to the gnome’s hat end.

Hello there i have just written out the bumblebee gnome pattern for my wife and was wondering how or where will i be able to find the honey pot pattern which is in the diagram of said bumblebee gnome pattern.
Many thanks
It looks like the brim of the hat is missing a row of instruction in this bumblebee gnome pattern. All of your other gnome hat brims have 5 rows. This only shows 4 rounds.
Hello Holly, Some of the hats are made with 4 ronds cause if you make them with 5 or more it will be too long. Nj.
