What is a Crochet Along?

Have you ever heard of a crochet along? Essentially, a crochet along, or CAL for short, is a group project where participants work on the same crochet pattern or project at the same time, following a set schedule. It’s a fun way to connect with other crocheters, share tips and tricks, and collectively work towards a common goal.

Here at our amigurumi crochet along, we focus on creating adorable crochet toys. Not only does crochet along provide a sense of motivation, but it’s also a great opportunity to learn new amigurumi techniques and tackle more complex projects.

Whether you’re an experienced crocheter or just starting, we invite you to join our community and experience the joy of crocheting with like-minded individuals. Let’s work together and create some cute and cuddly amigurumi toys!

Is the Crochet Amigurumi Along suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced crocheter this ami-along will be exciting and fun to join! In the crochet along we will crochet many adorable toys!

If you have been with us throughout the gnome along we hosted last year, you already know that we love to add different techniques to our patterns and teach you something new!

What stitches should I know for the crochet amigurumi along?

Usually, to crochet an amigurumi all you need to know is the basic single crochet stitch. We use a single crochet to create different shapes and later join them in a toy.

Moreover, the best stitch for crochet toys is single crochet because it is tight and prevents the fiberfill from showing.

What is the best yarn to use for amigurumi?

Throughout the crochet amigurumi along we will use various types of yarn for our projects. But most of the time using different yarn from the suggested one will give you a smaller or bigger project. It won’t change the toy you are making.

For example, in the Crochet No Sew Bunny pattern, we use plush yarn but some of you used regular worsted-weight yarn and still had great results.
