The Construction of the Daisy and Sunflower Granny Square

The construction of the Daisy and Sunflower Granny Squares is both fun and satisfying. We begin by crocheting in the round to form the flower center, then transition from a circle into a classic granny square shape by adding the corners and base rounds. Once the square is formed, we finish it off with a beautiful layer of textured petals worked around the flower center, giving each square its signature floral look.

To make the process even simpler, we’ve put together a full step-by-step video tutorial that guides you through every part of the pattern. Special Stitches

Seamless join/Perfect finish method

After your last stitch, do not slip stitch to join. Cut your yarn, leaving a 6–8 inch tail. Pull the yarn tail completely through the last stitch. Thread the tail onto a yarn needle. Insert the needle under both loops of the first stitch of the round from front to back. Bring the needle back down through the center of the last stitch (the one you pulled the tail from), mimicking the shape of a normal top stitch. Tug gently to adjust the tension and match the surrounding stitches. Weave in the tail securely on the wrong side of the square.

Single crochet increase ( sc inc )– work 2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch or space
