Quick and Easy Crochet Projects for Last-Minute Gifts
My friend bought a house recently, and the Christmas present I am preparing for her is a set of coasters, a potholder, and a set of pans. So every time she cooks for her family, she will remember me.

Why Choose DIY Crochet Coasters?
Homemade gifts are often more appreciated than store-bought ones because of the time, effort, and thought that goes into creating them. But, why specifically choose DIY crochet coasters as your homemade Christmas presents?
“Crochet coasters are not only practical and visually appealing, but they also carry the warmth of your creativity.”
Aside from being a quick and easy crochet project, coasters are also highly functional. They protect your surfaces from scratches, dings, and condensation rings, making them ideal for any home.
Plus, they can be customized to suit any decor style or personal preference, making them a thoughtful and personal gift.

Step-by-step video tutorial
If you prefer a video tutorial to follow along with the written instructions, I made a step-by-step one for you.
Written instructions for the flower coaster
with red color yarn
Rnd 1: Start with a MR, and secure with a knot, ch3, 11 dc into the ring, join with sl st on top of ch3.(12 sts) Leave the red color yarn, but do NOT fasten off. We will continue working with the yarn later.
For round 2 we will work in between the stitches, not at the top. What does it mean? We will make the stitches by inserting the hook between, the first and second st, then between second and third stitch, then third and fourth st and so on. NOT at the top of the stitches.
Rnd 2: Take the white color yarn, insert your hook in between the begch3 and the second st, ch3, 1 dc into the same sp, 2dc in each sp around, join with sl st on top of ch3( 24 sts )
Rnd 3: Now leave the white color yarn, go back, insert your hook in the space between the last st and the beg ch3 of round 2, pull up a loop with the red color yarn, make 1 petal, ch3, leave the red color yarn,
insert your hook into the space between the second and the third st of rnd 2, take the white color yarn( the loop we left at the end of round 1 ) and pull up a loop,
* make 1 petal, ch3, leave the white color yarn, take the red color yarn on your hook and place it in front of the white color, skip 2 sts of rnd 2, and sl st in the next sp,
1 petal, ch3, leave the red color, take the white color yarn, place it in front of the red color, sk 2 sts of rnd 2 and sl st in next sp, * rep to the end of the round.
At the end of the round, we will have 12 petals 6 in red color and 6 in white color.
Join the last red petal with sl st to the first red petal and the last white petal with the first white petal. When you are making the sl st, insert your hook from the front to the back as shown in the pictures.
