Free crochet flamingo applique- personalize your blankets
It has been a while since I have designed appliques, but I am back! Meet the newest addition to the appliques family- Crochet flamingo applique. I still haven’t decided if I should turn it into a crochet applique-themed blanket such as my crochet Jungle blanket, Undersea blanket, or Safari blanket. Maybe I should make a simple blanket to show off the applique better. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments and help me decide!

Once in a while I have designer blocks and it is very hard to get inspired and create a new design. I have been feeling lost for a few months back but as per this year my inspiration is back and in its full swing. Be prepared to be overloaded with cuteness in the next days and weeks!
Crochet flamingo applique can be used as an embelishment for your crochet baby blankets or maybe on your crochet bag. You can combine this crochet flamingo applique with some of our previous crochet animal appliques and create your own personalized blanket desings! Take a look at our Crochet applique section to find the rest of the crew.

Crochet flamingo applique pattern:
Materials:
- Sport weight yarn or DK weight yarn in fuchsia, light pink, beige and small amount of white and black for the beak.
- I used Schachenmayr Catania Originals, you can also use Stylecraft Special DK for example.
- Crochet hook size 3mm/US crochet hook size C or D
- 1 safety eye or mini black button.
Special stitches:
Mini picot stitch- ch 2, sl.st in 2nd ch from hook.
Pattern notes:
- This pattern is written in US crochet terminology.
- Final measurements are : 5 inches in width x 7 inches height
- If you use thicker yarn your applique will turn bigger, consider this when you choose teh weight of your yarn.
- If you use worsted weight yarn you will need to omit last round of head and body. So crochet the head till rnd 6 and work the body till rnd 4. When you make the wings just make the small feathers. The rest of the pattern is the same as using thinner yarn.
