The Yarn :
For all my applique I always prefer thinner yarn. The crochet Appliques have so much details and this way it is easier to crochet and attach them. Of course you can use different weight yarn but my suggestion is category 3 weight yarn, DK ( double knit ).

NOTES:
When you finish all parts of appliques, lay them on flat surface and use pins to secure them on right place. It is very important to pin the appliques before sewing so you will know exactly how it will look when you sew it on your project. When you like the layout off your appliques you can sew it on your crochet project.
If you will use the appliques on granny square blanket, sew the appliques onto the squares then join the granny squares into blanket. It will be easier to do and the applique will be more accurately placed.

Joining all parts together:
- Take head, muzzle, eye patches and eyes. First sew eyes on eye patches. Sew eye patches on both sides of head. Leave 2 sts between them. Sew muzzle on head.
- Take black yarn and tapestry needle and make nose. Make horizontal line for nose. Repeat the line 3, 4 time.
- Place the tree branch horizontally. Put the leaves on both sides on top. I made 3 but you can make more.
- Take body of sloth and place it like it is holding onto the branch.
- Place the head on top of body. The head should look to tree as it is hanging to it.
