A few notes before we start:
As I said the Gingerman crochet cup is part of the Christmas mini basket collection. Before you start with this pattern please read all the information on the main post- Crochet Santa Claus cup.
The baskets can be worked in waistcoat stitch or regular single crochet stitch. If you use a single crochet stitch you need to reduce the rounds and work them till round 15 and then make the last round of crab stitch. I have a full video tutorial for the snowman, reindeer and Santa Claus cups so if you have any troubles throughout the pattern check it out.

The last round is the edging. I used reversed single crochet known as crab stitch also.
Rnd 18: CH 1, * reverse single crochet, CH 1, skip 1 stitch* repeat around, SS to join.
The crochet cherry:
Start with a MR and make 12 DC into the ring, SS to join. FO.
Attach dark brown color in any stitch and CH 5, SS in 2nd , SS in each remaining. Join the stem with a SS into the next stitch of the cherry (this is the first stitch where you joined the dark brown color)
Insert the safety eyes in rounds 13 or 14 and leave a few stitches between them. Take a black string and form the eyebrows by making a small line. Take a piece of brown yarn and make the nose using a tapestry needle. Just make a small line 2 rows below the eyes in the middle. Use the black string and make the mouth.
