TJ is here.

In today’s post i will share with you my last design crochet wrap ” Karly “. I moved to live in The Hague, Netherlands before Christmas holidays and wanted to design something simple, easy and quick in last week at home, to have enough time for my family. I took some yarn with me but of course I had to leave most of them. Before moving I wanted to use up some of my stash and here the idea of Karly wrap came up. Simple, quick and easy.

I love to design crochet wrap, shawls and scarfs because this is my comfort zone. Cake yarns and simple stitches are perfect combo. There is no need to think for color combos, stitch samples cake yarns make all designs to pop out, even simplest ones. And for the last week at home with my family this was all i wanted and needed.

The Yarn:

For this crochet wrap I had Katia paint in color 70, which has the same metrics as almost all cake yarns of other brands. So if you don’t have the exact color you can use Lionbrand mandala yarn, Caron cakes and more and more…

Materials used :

  •  Katia Paint in color 70 80% Acrylic – 20% Wool 150 gr. 540 mts. /590 yds. in total of 950 mts/260 gr
  •  Crochet hook size 5 mm/ US H-8
  •  Scissors
  •  Tapestry needle
  •  Cardboard for tassels

Notes :

The pattern is 2 rows repeat Row 4 and 5. If you prefer you can print and check the pattern as you go or you can just crochet after you get familiar of the pattern.

My wrap is a bit larger but you can make yours smaller by crocheting less rows.

Cluster stitch/ double crochet 3 together– * Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop , yarn over, draw through 2 loops * rep 3 times (4 loops on hook), yarn over, draw through all loops on hook. The numbers in the end of each row shows how much stitches you must have for each side. I used Katia paint yarn but if you don’t have it you can use any brand cake yarns. To obtain the gauge use a smaller or bigger crochet hook.

Gauge unwashed is 6.5 sts / 8 rows in Cluster stitch.

Final measurements are: 75 cm deep in centre without tassels and 85 cm with tassels, 200 cm wide without tassels and 220 cm with tassels.

After you finish your crochet wrap, use a cardboard to make the tassels and attach them on each point.

You can check the video tutorial for the pattern where I show how to make tassels:
