” Marshmallow ” velvet baby boots

             “Marshmallow ” velvet baby boots will open a new world of crochet slippers and booties for you. These boots are soft and squishy and perfect for your child/friend or loved one.

In this design we used leather-EVA- felt 3 layered boots sole, which probably is new to you but very well known in Europe countries. You can make each design onto the sole without need to crochet one. They are more durable and water resistant. You can find the soles in our Etsy shop here. We prepared a PDF pattern with lots of photos which will help you following the pattern. The sizes available in the boots PDF pattern are the same. In future days we will include the bigger sizes too.Find the PDF pattern here.

I can say that if you give a try to these soles you will never need to crochet one. After a long search for a name of the pattern my baby girl suggested that it could be ” Marshmallow ” so we did it. We gave the name Marshmallow to these boots- Don’t they look like a marshmallows ?

The pattern is really easy to follow and there are extended instructions how to turn the slippers into boots and how to turn them in bunny slippers or bunny boots which your kids will definitely love. Happy crochet to all. You can watch the youtube video tutorial for the pattern as well. Enjoy.

Marshmallow velvet boots pattern:

Materials needed for the boots:

• 2mm crochet hook
• 3,5mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle, pair of scissors,
• 1 ball velvet yarn – I used Himalaya dolphin baby 100gr – 120 mt/131 yards . 100% polyester
• 20gr or 20metre of cotton mercerized yarn – I used Schachenmayr Catania solid.You will need durable, but thin yarn so it will be easily pull through the holes of sole.
• Fur/gem stone accessory if you wish. You can find it in our Etsy shop here.
• Leather boots / slipper sole. You can find them in our Etsy shop here.

If you don’t like to use leather sole you can crochet one. You just need to have the exact stitches as we have in our 1st round worked with velvet yarn.

Start with 2mm crochet hook and cotton yarn.

Base round– First we will make sc all around the sole and then we will wok the upper part on these stitches. Leather side is our inner part. So take the sole and turn the leather part to be on your wrong side. Right side will be your EVA side.

– Take your leather sole. There are holes – I have 34 holes. At the heel we have 2 centered holes, insert your hook in the hole on the left, and pull a loop, make 2 sc in base of this hole. Make 2 sc in each hole around. Join with sl.st on top of  1^st st.

Take your 3,5mm crochet hook and velvet yarn

Rnd 10: Making fringes

Turn your boot and work from back to front, ch 1, now * take a long piece of the yarn ( don’t cut it ), fold it back towards the hook, YO, and make the regular sc st * rep this till the end.

If you want your fringe to be 5cm, you should take 10cm of the yarn , when you fold it your fringe will be 5 cm height.

Boots size 21-22

Heart nose of bunny boots. Take your 2mm crochet hook and pink cotton yarn.

1. Method – using magic ring – Start with magic ring. Make sc 1, hdc 1, dc 3, hdc 1, sl.st, hdc 1, dc 3, hdc 1, sc 1, ch1. Join with sl,st on top of 1^st .

When you close your magic ring you will have your heart shaped.

2. Method- using ch-3 : Start with ch 3, and make sl.st in 3^rd ch from hook to form a ring. Make sc1, hdc1, dc 3, hdc 1, sl.st, hdc 1, dc 3, hdc 1, sc 1, ch 1. Join with sl.st on top of 1^st

Eyes of bunny boots :

Start with black color yarn :

Rnd 1: Start with magic ring and secure with sl.st , ch 2, make 9hdc into the ring. Join with sl.st  in 2^nd ch of initial ch-2.

Switch to white color

Rnd 2: * 2sc in first st, sc in next st * rep 4 times, 2sc in last st. Join with sl.st on top of 1^st st.

Leave a long tail to sew the eyes and make the sparkle of the eye. Your bunny baby boots/slippers are ready. I think that this pattern is beginner-friendly and I hope you will enjoy it too. The boots pattern if you ask me is 1 pattern which you can turn in 3 different boot designs.
