What is Crochet Amigurumi?

If you’re new to the world of crochet, you may be wondering what exactly is amigurumi. Simply put, amigurumi is the Japanese art of creating small, stuffed toys using crochet techniques.

The term “amigurumi” comes from the Japanese words “ami,” meaning crocheted or knitted, and “nuigurumi,” meaning stuffed doll.

Amigurumi has become increasingly popular worldwide, with many crocheters finding joy in creating these adorable creatures. What sets amigurumi apart from traditional crochet is the focus on creating three-dimensional objects, often with intricate details and small features.

How to crochet a no-sew bear amigurumi?

To achieve the no sew technique we will crochet the legs and hands separately. Afterward, we will continue with the body and attach the limbs as we crochet along. When we finish the head the only part to attach will be the ears and muzzle!

When I started the design of the no sew toys I wanted to keep them simple. I wanted beginner crocheters to be able to make them without any hustle!

In the pattern, we will use the basic crochet stitches such as single crochet, and double crochet for the skirt and increase and decrease!
