Triangle scarf- “Stock the Bean stitch “

Hello TJ is here, I want to share a bit more about this scarf with you. I love making hats, shawls and wearables. I designed this scarf a while ago, but never had the chance to share it with you, because when I was crocheting the pattern I forget to write down all the materials needed and didn’t want to mislead you for that. Sometimes I am really enthusiastic and impatient to see the final result. In the end of the day I am done and can see the final result but so tired to write the pattern. 🙂 These are things which I am trying to avoid for my future projects of course. ( This is not so bad I am pattern tester of my own designs ’cause most of the time I am crocheting it twice 🙂 So for this scarf  design I made the same I forget the hook size I used, how much yarn I spent and so on… But I am zodiac sign Aries which automatically means I am super super stubborn and when I decide I have to finish project, it must be finished. Today was such a day and I crochet all day, checked the pattern for mistakes, hook size and the yarn and here I am, writing this post… Now I want to talk about the yarn a bit. For the first scarf I used a Bulgarian brand Performance yarns in superwash merino and Drops Karisma- it is not as soft as I wanted and didn’t have enough yarn to make it in 2 colors, I didn’t like the color combo and decide to crochet it again with different yarn. For the second scarf I used James C. Brett – Double knitting with merino. When I bought this yarn I was thinking that I am not liking it so much, but gave it a try and I was really surprised. The yarn is really soft and very easy to work with. They have a natural colors and the light grey ( number 10 ) is the exact color I was looking for a long time.If you have never tried the yarn before, I encourage you to try it in your next projects…The difference between the first scarf and the second is really big. The scarf which I crochet with our Bulgarian yarn is heavy and rough, the second scarf i crochet with James C. Brett is really soft and light. I really wanna say so many things right now but English is not my first language and I have difficulties sometimes to express myself.( I am working on to improve it).

Design: I prefered to use Bean stitch for this scarf, because I knit 1 scarf and wanted to make crochet version of it. After a long search of crochet stitches in books and internet I said to myself that the best stitch is the easiest stitch for the first a few designs of scarfs and wearables.. And in the end I really liked the final result. This scarf pattern is for this time of the year when you are tired and want a simple, easy and fast stitch project. Here it is after the first 7-8 rows you will crochet it like a machine 🙂 I finished my scarf for just 1 day.

The pattern instructions for the scarf:

Tips and advise for the pattern

1.Read the pattern carefully.

You can use DK, worsted, cotton, acrylic yarns and weights. As you can see I used 2 different yarns but gauge and final measurements are the same for both scarfs.

2.In the end of each row in the brackets is written the number of stitches  and ch-spaces you must have per side for the shawl.

3.The final measurements after blocking the shawl are: 150cm width / 50 cm deep in the center part

4.Gauge: 9 sts / 6 rows in Bean stitch.

5.The pattern is written in US crochet terminology.
