Xo xo xo Santa Claus ragdoll – free pattern
What kind of Christmas it would be without our lovely Santa Claus. From the smallest ones to the all-grown adults, everyone still wishes to believe in Santa Claus’s magic. We are not an exception too.
When I was a kid, I’ve always wished to feel the magical atmosphere of each Christmas movie I watched; I am a grown adult now but still have the same feeling. What about you? Have you ever wished to make your home like popped out from a Xmas postcard, with all the gorgeous decoration, a big table full of delicious meals, and all the loved ones around you?
When I was designing the Christmas ragdoll collection, that was the feeling I wished you all to feel when you finish each member of the crew. I hope you can find the magic and the child inside yourself.

Pattern notes and essential information
Joining all the pieces :
When you join two body panels, make sure that the right side of the front panel is facing you while you are crocheting with a single crochet stitch around. As you crochet along the outside, you will need to switch colors where appropriate.
Stuffing – Stuff the toy when you crochet along. When you go around the leg with sc, fill it.
The dolls are made of flat pieces that we will join with a single crochet stitch later. The dolls are made of 6 panels – 2 for body and 4 for hands.
Color changing – When you switch colors, do it always before you finish your last st of the prev color yarn. Just change color before your last YO of prev st and YO with new color, then pull through the hook with the new yarn. Here is an example with colors – insert your hook into the last stitch of Color A. Pull up a loop in Color A. Then yarn over in Color B to complete the stitch. Continue with Color B until you need to switch again. When you change color, make sure that you are dropping the yarn in the back of your panel. If you wish, you can put a stitch marker on the Right Side of the panel or piece of string, so you will never wonder which one is the correct side.
Incorporating different colors – You can use the fair isle crochet technique when changing colors or pulling them from the back without cutting the yarn. Be sure that you keep the yarn at the backside of the panel. When we make the head, we will need to work on different color stitches of some rows in the pattern. The whole design is made using a single crochet stitch, so when we incorporate different colors, the stitches will be indicated with the letter of the color.
For example – “ 6W, 12CR, 6W ” – means that you should crochet the first 6 stitches with White color, the next 12 with Cream color, and the last 6 stitches with White color. When it says “ decW,” – it means you should decrease with white color yarn.
Do not forget – Make ch 1 and turn at the end of each row. For each doll, first, we will crochet both legs for each panel, and after that, we will join them and crochet the body and the face.

After you finish joining both panels of the hands, take the black color and insert your hook on the outer side of row 5 of the hand, pull up a loop,(ch3, dc3tog, ch3, and sl. st all in the same st).
Assembling pieces:
It doesn’t matter where you will start assembling . It will be easier if you attach the small parts on the body and face first then join the 2 body panels together.
1. First assembly hand pieces together 2 by 2. 2 pieces for each hand. Join hands
with sc st.
2. Sew the beard right under the cream part of the face on row 47.
3. Sew the mouth on row 49.
4. Sew the mustache on top of the mouth on row 51.
5. Sew the nose right on top of the mustache.
6. Sew the eyes on both sides of the nose, leaving 4 sts in between.
7. Sew the brows on top of the eyes on row 58.
After you sew all the parts, take a tapestry needle and white yarn. Use the chain stitch method and make the outer lines of Santa’s jacket. 1 of the lines must be right in the middle of the belly, and the other 2 must be 8 rows upper of the legs. How to make the chain stitch you can find HERE.
8. Sew belt in 28-29 rows. Then sew the belt clip on the black line.
9. Sew the hands to the back panel.
Joining all the pieces :
We have 2 different length panels as we said we need the front panel to have a slouchy hat of Santa Claus so we will start joining from the left side of our Santa Claus and continue downwards till the other side of the head . When you have made sc all around the body and joined it, take a tapestry needle and sew the last row of the back panel to the matching row of the front panel to close the hole left at the top.

You can find the rest of the crew down below. I hope you enjoyed making Santa Claus ragdoll as much as we did recreate it. We wish you Merry Christmas to all.
