How to make a Crochet Christmas Star Ornament?

Usually, most of the crochet star patterns are crocheted in a round. Meaning we start from the middle and continue crocheting in rounds till we have a star-shaped ornament.

However, in this pattern, we will crochet in rows. How? We will make 2 pieces of triangles and later join them into a star.

Throughout the pattern, we will use only basic stitches such as single crochet and slip stitch. Hence, it makes this pattern the perfect project for beginners to crochet for Christmas.

Starting with the triangle (make two for each star)

Row 1: CH 28, SC in 2nd from your hook, SC in next 3, (SC 1, CH 1, SC 1 all in next), *SC in next 8, (SC 1, CH 1, SC 1 all in next)* rep one more time, SC in next 4, CH 1, turn

Row 2: SC in next 5, (sc 1, 1 picot, sc 1), *sc in next 10, (sc 1, 1 picot, sc 1)* rep one more time, sc in next 5.

Fasten off and leave a longer tail for sewing.

Join both open sides to form a triangle. Once the first triangle is done crochet one more but leave the ends open. We will use the second triangle to wrap around the first and create a star.

How to wrap both triangles and turn them into a star.

First, take the open triangle and place it on a flat surface. Then take the closed one and place it on top of the open one. The open one must be with one point upwards and the closed one with one point downwards.
